R-2.11.x for x64 Windows

R-2.11.x for x64 Windows is unsupported.

This directory contains only the 64-bit binaries for a base distribution and packages for R-2.11.x to run on x64 Windows, that is 64-bit versions of Windows running on x86_64 CPUs (and not the much rarer ia64 CPUs).

Releases prior to R-2.11.0 have not had any x64 support. As of R-2.12.0, R base and contributed packages are distributed as bi-architecture builds for both architectures, i386 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit).

There is a parallel directory for all other ports of R for Windows. That includes the 32-bit binaries of R for Windows for releases < 2.12.0 as well as the bi-archs binaries for releases >= 2.12.0.

Note: CRAN does not have Windows systems and cannot check these binaries for viruses. Use the normal precautions with downloaded executables.

Subdirectories:

base Binaries for base distribution (managed by Duncan Murdoch)
contrib Binaries of contributed packages (managed by Uwe Ligges)
Do note the ReadMe file about these packages.

Please do not submit binaries to CRAN.

You may also want to read the R FAQ and R for Windows FAQ. Up-to-date information on this port can be found in the versions of the 'R Administration and Installation Manual' and 'R for Windows FAQ' installed as part of the snapshot.
